Pure speed MK TASes

With the recent rules change at TASvideos, fighting game TASes that aim for completing the game as fast as possible are now welcome. Entertainment doesn't matter at all, it's just pure speed at all costs.

Is anyone interested in trying to devise a way to beat (for example) UMK3 as quickly as possible?

I think a pure speed-based approach could also be interesting to see. I might try to do a tool-assisted speedrun of Mortal Kombat 4 for GBC some day soon. Then again, that is such an awful game that it's not possible to do an entertaining playaround of it.

Vlack, due to rule change, TASVideos finally accepted your glitched MK3 run for GB. Congrats, however, it's not optimal considering I think it was taken in as a speed record instead of a playaround.

Maybe we could plan an improvement to it?

There was a glitch one time in which a simple jump kick hit countless of times and drained at least 60% of the enemy's health. Maybe if that kind of glitches could be manipulated...

vclack TASVideos has strange rules with you see,but the new rule is put TASes previously rejected in a vault TASes without entertainment they did not think of it before in time they rejected some,but to the standard TAS is still the same but who create a TAS speed as AKheon mentioned will be accepted for the vault

and today began with nominations and awards tasvideos who want to see the TAS nominate UMK3 SNES try to make SDR,darknoob and I in the best SNES TAS I hope also the nominate in the category of glitchy TAS

yeah I see that these awards are going to be really hard-fought because last year they were published many TAS are really good it's hard to know who won.

And I also see that he was nominated SDR in a new category that is Exotic Platforms for their TAS Marvel vs Capcom playaround and Marvel vs Street Fighters I hope he wins this award for one of TAS

While already nomido our UMK3 TAS in 3 categories of hope that at least we can win some.

I also did one speed-TAS of a Mortal Kombat myself. It's of the awful, awful MK4 for GBC, one of the worst fighting games ever made. I doubt you could even make an entertaining run of this game, making a pure speed-category more justified.

GEeeeezzz.... what a terrible game, I can't even understand what was happening (Calculator graphs), congratulations for your courage to make a TAS of this game, maybe I couldn't have it, lolz. you got a big patient to work in that.

Thanks. I'm consider making a speed-TAS of some other MK handheld game too, or possibly Virtua Fighter 2 for Sega.
